Spend 9-12 weeks this summer working on an authentic American summer camp and experience a taste of the real USA. Camp America will help send your application to hundreds of camps to find your job placement, provide you with food and accommodation at camp, and help you earn up to $2,150 in pocket money during the summer. We'll be supporting you every step of the way, ensuring you have everything you need including visa sponsorship!) and you can expect 24/7 on-the-ground support throughout the summer. What is summer camp?
For 9-12 weeks every summer, millions of kids attend thousands of summer camps across the USA. Camp Directors search far and wide for fun and friendly staff who will share their camp’s values and create an inclusive environment for campers. Camp America participants are there to help campers have a summer they’ll never forget, making new friends, sharing new experiences, developing new skills and enjoying life outdoors! By the lake, by the pool, in the fields or in the forest – there’s adventure everywhere.
Our Camps
We’re the original summer camp organisation, placing thousands of jobs at hundreds of summer camps across the USA since 1969. Our Camps start between 1st May and 20th June and run for 9-12 weeks.

The first time I attended camp I was a General Camp Counsellor and this year I was the Arts & Crafts Specialist! Going to camp was a bit of a culture shock, but it unlocked a new passion to teach and work with kids!
I have been doing camp since 2017! My biggest challenge has been learning American Culture, which is very different to South Africa, but it's the most fun I've ever had in my life!
Working at camp taught me patience, teamwork and self-control. Being at Camp is so exciting and rewarding, there's aways someone to help! My favourite camp tradition was 4th July celebrations!
Spending four summers working at an under-served summer camp has made me grateful in many ways and taught me the importance of creating opportunities for all children.
Camp America has given me countless opportunities that otherwise would've never been imaginable. The lessons I've learnt, the skills I've acquired and the memories I've made will last a lifetime.
You join this bubble of people who are extremely caring and supportive, they help you grow as a person and unlock new confidence. I would recommend Camp America to anyone!
